2026 SCOA Cares Ring the Bell 5k
SCOA Cares Ring the Bell 5K 2026:
Run for Hope. Ring for Victory. Celebrate Together.
Mark your calendars and lace up your running shoes — the SCOA Cares Ring the Bell 5K begins at 10:00 AM, and this year we’re making it bigger, louder, and more joyful than ever.
Every step you take brings us closer to celebrating more cancer survivors and standing beside those still in the fight. This isn’t just a race — it’s a powerful movement of hope, courage, and community.
Inspired by the unforgettable moment when cancer patients ring the bell to mark the end of treatment, the Ring the Bell 5K is your opportunity to honor fighters, remember loved ones, and rally around patients currently on their journey. Whether you run, walk, or cheer from the sidelines, your presence directly supports local cancer patients and their families through the SCOA Cares Foundation.
👟 Kids Fun Run Included!
This year, we’re excited to host a Kids Fun Run, giving our youngest supporters a chance to join the movement and be part of something meaningful. Because hope has no age limit.
🎉 After Party: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
The celebration doesn’t stop at the finish line. Starting at 11:00 AM, stick around for an unforgettable after party featuring:
• Delicious food
• Live music
• Activities and fun for the whole family
It’s more than a race — it’s a community celebration of strength, resilience, and victory.
Cross the finish line and take part in the special bell-ringing ceremony — a powerful moment that reminds us why we run and who we run for.
Run with purpose.
Ring for hope.
Celebrate life.
Together, we can make a difference. 💛

The 4th Jonathan Bankhead SMASH CANCER Memorial Tournament
The Jonathan Bankhead Memorial Smash Cancer tennis tournament was started in 2021 and dedicated to the memory of a well-loved man. The tournament, its sponsors, and players have donated more than $113,000 to assist the families of those going through cancer treatment at South Carolina Oncology Associates. Every sponsor dollar and all donations are contributed to SCOA Cares Foundation, which provides financial assistance to cancer patients receiving treatment at SCOA, the only comprehensive cancer treatment center in South Carolina. Jonathan was a patient at SCOA and lost his 15-month battle against glioblastoma January 12, 2020. The annual event is underwritten by player registration fees and a grant from the City of Forest Acres.
